Semi Ojeleye's Career-High Helps SMU Survive Scare From East Carolina, 81-77

HARTFORD, Conn. - Semi Ojeleye’s put back with 29 seconds left proved to be the game winner for SMU as the Mustangs beat East Carolina 81-77 in the quarterfinals of the Frontier Communications American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship.

Ojeleye had a career-high 36 points and 12 rebounds on 12-of-19 shooting and made 11-of-13 free throws. Sterling Brown added 16 points for the Mustangs who shot over 60 percent from the field.

SMU (28-7) built a 24-point lead in the first half after a 28-10 run to close the half and looked in control up 17 with 6:09 to play.
