WICHITA, Kan. -- All five starters reached double-digit scoring as No. 3 Houston held off Wichita State, 70-61, at Koch Arena in the only American Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Thursday, February 2.
Marcus Sasser and Jarace Walker each scored 15 points for Houston (21-2, 9-1 American), while Jamal Shead (13 points), Tramon Mark (12) and J'Wan Roberts (10) also recorded double figures.
Jaykwon Walton led the Shockers (11-11, 4-6 American) with 24 points.
The game was tied at 54 with five minutes to go, but Houston then went on a 9-3 run to pull away.
