EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Quarterback Tai Lavatai rushed for two touchdowns and Bijan Nichols hit a key field goal with 6:10 left to lift Navy to a 17-13 win against Army in America's Game at MetLife Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Lavatai scored on an 8-yard run in the first quarter to answer Army's only touchdown of the game and added a 2-yard run to cap a 10-play, 74-yard drive to start the third quarter, giving the Midshipmen a 14-13 lead.
Nichols, meanwhile, capped a key 15-play drive that covered only 49 yards, but consumed 8:56 as his 43-yard field goal with 6:10 left gave the Midshipmen a four-point lead.
