Jill Stockley struck out six batters in six innings as UConn won the series opener 4-3 against Tulsa on Friday afternoon. Reese Guevarra and Olivia Sappington each tallied two hits, while Sappington, Kiwi McDaniel and Carli Cutler all notched an RBI in the win.
Haley Meinen went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI for Tulsa in the loss. Chenise Delce had two hits in as many at-bats and Julia Hollingsworth finished with a double and RBI for the Golden Hurricane.
