Memphis Surges to First; Meissner Sets Low Score Record

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Memphis stormed a first-place lead at the second round of the 2019 American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship on Tuesday while SMU’s Mac Meissner carded a second-straight 5-under, 66 to set a 36 hole record in championship play for The American.

The Tigers carded a second round 2-under, 282 to surge to a six-stroke lead after trailing by one after the initial round. Memphis’s 282 is tied for the third-lowest second round in American title play. The Tigers also boast all five of its player in the top-15 and all for scorers in the top-10.
