IRVING, Texas – Memphis sophomore Loenie Moeller and Tulsa senior Maria Berlanga Bandera have been chosen as the 2025 American Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Players of the Year by the league’s head coaches.
Tulane’s Campbell Ricci was named as The American’s Freshman of the Year. Memphis head coach Hayden Perez was chosen by his counterparts as The American Coach of the Year.
A native of Nordhorn, Germany, Moeller is the first Memphis player to be named as The American’s Player of the Year. She amassed a 27-13 record in singles in the 2024-25 season, including four consecutive wins in the American Women’s Tennis Championship to lead Memphis to the tournament title.
