Memphis' Gibson Named Walter Camp National Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced that Memphis wide receiver Antonio Gibson has been chosen as the National Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 54-48 win against No. 14 SMU Saturday night.

Gibson set school and American Athletic Conference reocrds with 386 all-purpose yards and became the first player in 2019 to score touchdowns in three different ways in the win against the Mustangs. Gibson rushed for 97 yards, incuding a 78-yard touchdown, had 130 yards and a 50-yard TD on six receptions, and returned the second-half kickoff 97 yards for a score.
