IRVING, Texas - Memphis running back Kenneth Gainwell has been named to the Associated Press Preseason All-America Team in advance of the 2020 college football season.
Gainwell was chosen to the second team along with Alabama's Najee Harris. The two first-team selections were Oklahoma State's Chuba Hubbard and Clemson's Travis Etienne.
Gainwell, who was chosen as the FWAA National Freshman of the Year in 2019, finished his rookie season with 1,459 rushing yards (12th nationally), 2,069 all-purpose yards (ninth nationally) and a school-record seven games with at least 100 rushing yards.
