Memphis Downs USF 3-1 in First Round of Men's Soccer Championship

ORLANDO – No. 6 seed Memphis earned the program’s first American Athletic Conference Championship victory on Tuesday, using two second-half goals to defeat No. 3 seed USF in the first round by a 3-1 score.

The Tigers (8-6-4) advance to Thursday’s semifinals, where they will meet No. 2 seed SMU for a 4:30 p.m. start time at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.

Memphis freshman Gurman Sangha recorded a goal and an assist, finding sophomore Chris Mikus for the game-winning goal. Freshman goalkeeper Parker Lackland made seven stops for the Tigers to pick up his fourth win of the season.
