LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Houston Athletics) -- University of Houston Softball junior Savannah Heebner was named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-America Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Heebner was named to the Second Team after being tabbed to the NFCA All-Region First Team for the Central Region on May 17.
The native of Sedalia, Colo., collects Houston’s sixth All-America honor and first since 2014. Cougars Angel Shamblin (Second Team), Jessica Valis (Third Team) and Laurie Wagner (Third Team) each collected All-America honors in 2008, and Haley Outon (Third Team) garnered the distinction in both 2012 and 2014.
