IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s swimming and diving honors, for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 7.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Ioanna Sacha * Sr. * Houston
Sacha claimed three solo event wins in a Senior Day dual meet triumph for Houston over Rice on Feb. 3, winning the 100 backstroke (:53.40), 200 backstroke (1:55.41) and the 200 IM (1:59.84). The 100 backstroke time was the fastest time in The American this season and was an NCAA B-cut, while 200 backstroke and 200 IM both would have ranked second behind prior Sacha times that were NCAA B-cuts earlier in the season.
