IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, April 10.
Player of the Week
Bethany Busch * Sr. * OF * Houston
Busch was a key offensive cog for Houston in a three-game series sweep at East Carolina, returning from injury to start at designated player against the Pirates. Busch batted .385 with two game-winning home runs, seven RBI, a 1.125 slugging percentage and three runs scored for the Cougars. Busch turned in a 2-for-4 day in game two against ECU on April 9, blasting a three-run home run with one out in the top of the fifth inning and drove in a career-high four total runs in a 6-3 comeback victory.
