IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, May 2.
Player of the Week
Rock Benavides * Sr. * IF * Houston
Benavides led Houston on offense in a 2-2 week against Memphis by batting .636 with a .733 on-base percentage, three RBI and three runs scored. She reached base safely in all four matchups against the Tigers and was on the pond multiple times in three starts. Benavides drove in a pair of runs and scored twice in the series opener against Memphis on April 30 and went 2-for-2 with a walk in the nightcap against the Tigers.
