Houston Wins First American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship

BELLEAIR, Fla. – Houston paced the field for all three days at the 2023 American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship to win its first American conference championship and first conference championship since 2013. Santiago De La Fuente became the second Cougar to claim the individual title, shooting 10-under 200 over the three-day event.

The average score for the 54 holes of the tournament was 71.96 on the par-70, 6,881-yard course. The final round average was 72.09 across 45 rounds.

Houston was the lone team to shoot under-par over the course of 54 holes, finishing the tournament at 9-under 831 (272-278-281).
