North Texas began its 2019 season with a 51-31 victory against Abilene Christian in Denton last Saturday … The Mean Green looks to build upon back-to-back nine-win seasons as North Texas went 9-4 last season and 9-5 in 2017 … QB Mason Fine has established himself as one of the nation’s top signal-callers … Fine is off to an outstanding start to 2019 after he went 28-for-37 for 383 yards and four touchdowns in the win against Abilene Christian … Fine threw for 3,793 yards and 27 touchdowns with only five interceptions in 2018 … Fine leads a veteran offense that includes RB DeAndre Torrey, who rushed for 95 yards against Abilene Christian and had 15 rushing touchdowns last season … WR Rico Bussey had four catches for 156 yards and a touchdown in the opener, while WR Jason Pirtle had four catches for 88 yards and three TDs.
