GREENVILLE, North Carolina – Gabby Fornia scored the tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation and delivered the game-winning goal in overtime to send Vanderbilt to the American Athletic Conference Championship final with an 11-10 semifinal victory against Temple Thursday night at Johnson Stadium.
The No. 3-seeded Commodores (11-6) advance to face top-seeded Florida Saturday in the American Athletic Conference Championship final Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.
Fornia, who entered the game as The American’s scoring leader, was held without a point for the first 53 minutes, but scored four goals and had an assist in the last 6:03 of regulation and the overtime period.
