Five From The American Chosen In Day 2 of NFL Draft

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Five American Athletic Conference football players were chosen on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft Friday.

The five picks through the first two days of the draft are one shy of the conference’s high of six from the 2017 and 2018 drafts.

The first player from The American off the board was Memphis’ Antonio Gibson, who was chosen by the Washington Redskins with the second pick of the third round (66th overall).

Houston offensive tackle Josh Jones went six picks later (72nd overall) to the Arizona Cardinals, while Temple center Matt Hennessy was tabbed by the Atlanta Falcons with the 14th pick of the third round (78th overall).
