IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, January 8.
Player of the Week
Danae McNeal, Sr., G, East Carolina
McNeal helped guide the Pirates to a 2-0 week with wins over Memphis and Tulane. The senior guard averaged 23 points, three assists, and three steals. She began the week with a 20 point outing against Memphis before scoring a career-high 26 points against Tulane, hitting six three-pointers in the game. She became the 11th player in East Carolina history to make six three-pointers in a game.
