Cincinnati's White Named Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week

The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced that Cincinnati linebacker Jarell White has been chosen as the National Defensive Player of the Week for games ending Nov. 14.

White helped Cincinnati to its 19th consecutive home-field victory as he registered seven tackles with one sack, one hurry and a 26-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Bearcats' 55-17 victory against East Carolina.

White is the second Cincinnati player in three weeks to earn a Walter Camp national weekly honor. Bearcat quarterback Desmond Ridder was the National Offensive Player of the Week Oct. 25. He is the fourth American Athletic Conference player to be so honored this season, joining Ridder, UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Memphis signal-caller Brady White.
