PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the week ending May 5.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alec Burleson * So. * OF/1B * ECU
Burleson earns his second American Player of the Week nod this season after helping the Pirates clinch their sixth conference series of the year. The sophomore hit .583 (7-for-12) and slugged 1.250 with five doubles, runs scored and RBIs, as well as his sixth home run of the season in a three-game sweep of Cincinnati.
