WEST POINT, N.Y. — Cale Hellums ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns to lead Army to a 24–7 victory over Charlotte on Saturday afternoon at Michie Stadium, helping the Black Knights even their record at 3–3 overall and 2–2 in the American Conference.
Army controlled the game from start to finish behind its trademark ground attack, rushing for 304 yards on 64 carries while holding the 49ers (1–5, 0–3 American) to just 68 yards on the ground and 178 total. The Black Knights dominated time of possession nearly two-to-one (38 minutes to 22) and converted 8 of 14 third downs.
