BIRMINGHAM | The list of cities to host Deontay Wilder's next heavyweight title defense fight was short. When Las Vegas was ruled out, the World Boxing Council champ looked down the road from his hometown of Tuscaloosa to Birmingham.
“When they asked me where at, that was one of my ultimate goals and dreams was to fight right here at the Legacy Arena,” Wilder said. “That was a two-second conversation, really.”
Wilder is readying for his second title defense in Birmingham in three months. He'll face Johann Duhaupas on Sept.
