Why Tim Smith feels playing at Alabama prepared him for NFL

Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman, Tim Smith is confident in his ability to carry himself like a professional in the NFL because he played five seasons at Alabama.

Smith brings this confidence to Indianapolis after being drafted by the Colts with the 190th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Smith comes off of a progressive collegiate career in Tuscaloosa, having started 32 of the 64 games, while recording 125 tackles and 6.5 sacks.

The Florida native feels the lessons and experiences he earned while playing at Alabama are reasons why he believes he’ll be fully prepared for the NFL level.
