Because of the global Coronavirus pandemic, three conferences in the power five of college football have transitioned to having conference-only schedules in the fall.
With the ACC, Big 12 and Pac-12 going this route, the Southeastern Conference and Big 12 continue to hold out for a full season. According to Greg Sankey, SEC Commissioner, the conference does not want to make a hasty decision.
Although he knows the next three to five weeks will be critical, Sankey is willing to hold his move until late July or early August.
As for the Big 12, it’s in the same boat.
