People are talking Mac Jones versus Bryce Young for Alabama’s quarterback race, but the real competition is between Young and Paul Tyson. Should we have a college football season, Nick Saban feels safer starting the experienced Jones – especially after he performed admirably last year in the absence of Tua Tagovailoa (hip injury) and ran the offense well.

Young’s athleticism and passing abilities bring much excitement to the quarterback room; however, Tyson has been emerging this summer. A four-star in the 2019 recruiting cycle from Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) High School, Tyson is currently training with an elite quarterback developer in Lavelle Durant out of Seattle, Wash.
