On June 22, Brad Edwards of ESPN released an SEC Preview video for the 2020 season and stated that Alabama football is no longer the undisputed king of the conference.
He brought up the fact that Louisiana State University unseated the Crimson Tide last year by defeating it at Bryant-Denny Stadium, and then winning both a conference and a national championship. Edwards proceeded to discuss how Auburn has won two of the last three Iron Bowls against Alabama, and how Georgia took the Tide to the wire in both 2017 and 2018.
Despite these things, the biggest aspect he mentioned was on how the foundation Nick Saban built the program on has started to crumble.
