Former Florida head coach and Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain has joined the Michigan staff, according to a report by ESPN.com's Chris Low.

McElwain told Low he will serve as the Wolverines wide receivers coach, but will also be involved in the weekly game-planning. Though Michigan has not announced the move, McElwain was scheduled to be on the job by Sunday according to the report.

"I'm excited to get back into it and am looking forward to going there and learning and helping Michigan get better," McElwain told ESPN.

McElwain parted ways with Florida on Oct.
