Last season did not end the way Alabama fans, players and coaches want it to.
The Crimson Tide did not compete for a Southeastern Conference title or a national championship, and it missed the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2014.
Of the problems that happened, the majority of issues came on defense.
A combination of injuries, lack of discipline and lack of communication led to opposition generating success against the Tide and scoring points. Alabama surrendered a pair of 40-point games to LSU and Auburn and lost both matchups. Despite ending the season on a strong note, everyone knew that 2019 was not the form of Tide football that people grew fond of watching.
