Alabama landed its seventh verbal commitment for its 2021 recruiting class last week, as five-star offensive tackle JC Latham gave his word to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.
The 6-foot-6, 306-pounder becomes the fifth product from IMG Academy to land on Saban’s radar – joining the likes of Bo Scarbrough, Evan Neal, Trey Sanders and Dylan Moses.
While Neal played a role in Alabama getting Latham’s commitment, his impressive size and footwork has the Tide believing he could be the next Andre Smith, Jonah Williams or Cam Robinson at tackle. He is the second five-star to commit in this class and according to Justin Smith, the lead scouting/recruiting analyst for Touchdown Alabama Magazine, Latham is the first prospect to earn a diamond grade.
