VIDEO: Alabama coaches respond to negative recruiting tactics, involving freshmen

On Monday, Jeff Banks led the charge in dismantling one of the biggest misconceptions in college football.

The special teams’ coordinator and tight ends coach is tired of the idea of Alabama not playing true freshmen. He released a graphic to Twitter that highlighted nine freshmen starters and 25 true freshmen in all who played last season.

Behind him, assistant coaches Kyle Flood (offensive line), Charles Huff (running backs) and Steve Sarkisian (offensive coordinator) supported Banks. Since 2008, Nick Saban has never been afraid to rely on young players. The trend is set to continue this fall, seeing how the Crimson Tide signed a bunch of high character athletes that desire to capture a national championship.
