When the news came out earlier this week that Miami Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick had filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark the term "FitzMagic," it apparently upset some football fans, presumably those of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick also carries the nickname FitzMagic, at least when he plays as well as he has the past two games. Thrust into the starting lineup with former Hueytown High School standout Jameis Winston serving an NFL suspension, Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the NFC Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
