Update: Jay Graham states he has officially resigned from Alabama’s coaching staff

One month after hiring Jay Graham, the University of Alabama sees the assistant coach leave Nick Saban’s staff.

On Wednesday, the school announced that Graham has resigned his position “effective immediately.”

He was hired in February to replace Jeff Banks as the tight ends coach and special teams coordinator. After helping the Crimson Tide win a national championship in 2020, Banks left Alabama to join Steve Sarkisian at Texas. Graham, 45, was an All-SEC running back at the University of Tennessee from 1993-96. He spent six seasons in the National Football League and started his coaching career in 2005 as a graduate assistant at his Alma mater.
