Alabama fans hoped Ty Simpson could be an upgrade at QB over Jalen Milroe this season. As talented as Milroe was - and as high as his ceiling was - Tide fans endured some dreadful QB performances from Milroe a season ago, most notably in losses to Tennessee and Oklahoma.
No Alabama fan expected Simpson to be quite this good. Not only has he been a major upgrade for the Crimson Tide, he's turned into a Heisman Trophy contender and the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
As the Crimson Tide enters the stretch run of the regular season, Simpson has put himself in contention for some major hardware.
