Tony Brown Sent Home from Cotton Bowl for Violation of Team Rules

When the Alabama Crimson Tide take on the Michigan State Spartans in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve, they'll be without sophomore cornerback Tony Brown.

"We have made an internal decision to send Tony Brown home due to a violation of team rules," said head coach Nick Saban, per Michael Casagrande of AL.com.

According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Brown was the No. 2 CB and ninth-best player overall in the 2014 recruiting class. Since his arrival in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, though, he has failed to register much of an impact for the Crimson Tide.
