The Thompson Warriors continued their dominance over the 7A classification with a 48-10 win over Opelika Wednesday to secure their seventh football state championship.
The Thompson defense came out playing like a team on a mission against the Bulldogs.
The Warriors finished the first half, giving up only nine yards, and this was a precursor of what was to come. Opelika did not pick up its first first down until around the four-minute mark of the second quarter.
Thompson got the ball top open the game after Opelika won the coin tossed and elected to defer.
