The story behind Alabama punter's Donald Trump prayer circle

On the plane flying to Washington D.C. came the moment JK Scott knew he'd pray for Donald Trump.

The moment, which later went viral after Alabama's national title celebration Tuesday, wasn't for show, the former Crimson Tide punter told AL.com. He's not even into politics.

But hearing a certain song on the flight was the message Scott needed to make the move later that afternoon.

"Maybe the Lord wants to say something to President Trump or do something or we should pray for him," Scott said.

Standing in the risers on the White House south lawn, Scott said he was overwhelmed with compassion when Trump took the podium.
