Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis has been spending all of his time getting the Aggies ready for Saturday’s visit from the Tennessee Volunteers. But he did take a minute to watch Josh Dobbs’ 43-yard “Hail Mary” touchdown pass that gave his alma mater a dramatic 34-31 win at Georgia.
It brought back a lot of memories.
“I don’t remember a great team going through a (championship) season without having to overcome adversity,” Chavis said. “That certainly happened to us in 1998.”
Chavis was Tennessee’s DC when the Vols won the national championship in 1998.
