South Carolina’s head coach Shane Beamer said he texted Ty Simpson’s dad while looking at film of the Alabama offense.
Beamer has a previous relationship with Simpson and his family, dating back to when the quarterback was a five-star recruit. Simpson’s dad Jason Simpson is the head football coach at UT-Martin.
“I texted his dad a couple nights ago, and I was sitting there watching their offense on tape and some of the throws that Ty has made this season, I mean, they are as good a throws I’ve seen in a long, long time, whether it be clutch plays on that fourth down against Missouri, they’ve got great coverage, and he makes a heck of a throw or some of the pressure he was under at times against Tennessee the other night, and he’s able to sit in the pocket.
