Alabama coach Nick Saban is trying to do his part to help high schools in West Virginia following a recent flooding that ravaged his home state.
Saban, who is from Fairmont, West Virginia, has joined forces with the Alabama High School Athletics Directors and Coaches Associations, in asking Alabama high schools to provide donations for West Virginia high schools affected by the floods.
“Football was such an important part of my childhood in West Virginia, and to see the devastation the flooding has caused, and how it has threatened so many high school football teams, we wanted to find a way to help,” Saban said in a news release sent out by the Alabama athletic department.
