Continuity is starting to happen on Nick Saban’s coaching staff at Alabama, as Steve Sarkisian remains at offensive coordinator and Butch Jones got promoted. Also, the Crimson Tide attracted help on defense in hiring Charlie Strong as analyst. When it comes to offense, the coordinators under Saban stepped their game up in year two. Jim McElwain helped Alabama to a national championship in his second season (2009) and Lane Kiffin followed suit in the 2015 campaign.
Sarkisian has had success with managing quarterbacks and offenses – since his time with the USC Trojans – however, he has not won a national title since 2003.
