When speaking with the media at the annual Nick’s Kids Foundation Giveaway Luncheon, Nick Saban had the opportunity to offer his thoughts and prayers to Alabama’s legendary broadcaster Eli Gold.
Vice president and general manager of Crimson Tide Sports Marketing, Jim Carabin, announced in a press release early Tuesday morning that Gold would be sidelined for the beginning of the 2022 football season due to unspecified health issues.
“Eli has done a fantastic job of being the voice of our iconic brand at the University of Alabama for a long, long time,” Saban said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and we certainly hope that he has a speedy recovery.
