Nick Saban named finalist for George Munger Coach of the Year Award

Alabama coach Nick Saban has been named as one of three finalists for the George Munger Coach of the Year Award, the Maxwell Football Club announced Monday.

Western Michigan’s P.J. Fleck and Colorado’s Mike MacIntyre are the award’s other two finalists.

Saban, now in his 10th year at Alabama, has guided the Crimson Tide to a 13-0 record, as well as a third straight SEC championship title and College Football Playoff appearance.

Overall, Saban has won five SEC and four national championships during his time at Alabama. If the Crimson Tide wins it again this season, it would be Saban’s fifth national title in eight seasons and his sixth overall.
