As many as 24 rookies from Alabama high schools and colleges could make their NFL debuts during the first week of the league's 2018 season, which kicks off on Thursday night.
Former Alabama All-American Minkah Fitzpatrick was the first of the state players picked in the 2018 NFL Draft, going to the Miami Dolphins with the 11th selection.
The Dolphins' depth chart lists Fitzpatrick as the second-team free safety. But Miami used him as its slot corner, among other assignments, during the preseason, so he's expected to see extensive action against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
