New York Giants waive Kevin Norwood

After spending more than three months on injured reserve, wide receiver Kevin Norwood was waived by the New York Giants with an injury settlement on Wednesday.

The former Alabama standout suffered a hip injury during practice on Aug. 13. The Giants waived Norwood with an injury designation on Aug. 14, and when he cleared waivers, Norwood reverted to their injured reserve, where he stayed until Wednesday.

Once he clears the waiver wire, Norwood will be able to sign with another NFL team if, or when, he is healthy.

Norwood played for Alabama's BCS national-championship teams in 2011 and 2012 and was a redshirt during the Crimson Tide's 2009 BCS title season.
