The creator of the hilarious Doug Jones Kick Six parody was late to the action.
Timothy Burke, the video director at Deadspin, was out celebrating his fifth anniversary with his wife as the nation focused its attention on the Alabama special election involving Doug Jones and Roy Moore. By the time Burke made it back into his office, the election had been called in Jones' favor -- a stunning result given no Democrat had been elected to the United States Senate from Alabama in 25 years.
Burke scrolled back on Twitter and saw that Moore, a controversial figure, was actually winning the race at one point before Jones shot past him late in the evening.
