Kirby Smart sends football to child recovering from brain tumor operation

Andrew Fambrough is battling more than most 8-year-olds. In fact, it’s only been three weeks since doctors in Birmingham removed a brain tumor, an operation from which he’s still recovering.

But thanks to a few family friends with Alabama football connections, he received a special gift from Georgia head coach Kirby Smart to help brighten his spirits.

Fambrough’s father, Gene, is director of bands at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and has a deep love for the University of Georgia, his alma mater.
