FORT WORTH, Texas | Kayla Williams ended her collegiate gymnastics career where she wanted to finish it, on the final day of competition at the NCAA championships, but not how she wanted to go out.
The University of Alabama's senior from Huntingdon, W.Va., finished third on vault but took a fall on balance beam in her last routine at the Fort Worth Convention Center on Sunday.
Teammate Katie Bailey took fifth place on the uneven bars in the individual event finals.
Alabama coach Dana Duckworth was there when it was over to remind Williams what it's really all about.
