Julio Jones says he was never going to hold out during Falcons' training camp

To the apparent surprise of the Atlanta Falcons' leaders, wide receiver Julio Jones skipped the NFL team's entire offseason program, including the three days that he was required to attended under the league's collective bargaining agreement with its players' union.

Then came reports that Jones would not report to training camp with the rest of the Falcons' veterans on Thursday.

The root of the matter was reported as the former Alabama standout's desire to have his contract brought in line with that of the NFL's other elite receivers.

At training camp on Friday, Jones said he had no intention of holding out and knew all along he "was going to be here" when the Falcons opened training camp.
