Green Bay Packers fans who wondered why their favorite NFL team would use a fifth-round draft choice on a punter gained some insight on Sunday.
The Packers lined up in punt formation at their 18-yard line in the second quarter. JK Scott hit the football with his right foot, and Minnesota cornerback Marcus Sherels made a fair catch at the Vikings' 19 -- a 63-yard punt with no return that had a reported hang time of 5.47 seconds.
When Minnesota completed a 24-yard pass, the big-gainer only got the Vikings to their 43, and they punted from there.
