Jarran Reed starts GoFundMe campaign to help hometown recover from Hurricane Matthew

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed's hometown of Goldsboro, North Carolina, took a hard hit from Hurricane Matthew earlier this month, and the former Alabama standout wants to help.

Reed has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist Goldsboro. In addition to seeking donations, he has pledged to donate $250 to #JR4NC for every sack recorded by the Seahawks this season.

"I love and care for my city," Reed said, "and I want to help the most I can for the city to overcome this event."

Estimated damage to homes, businesses and other buildings in North Carolina from flooding has been estimated at $1.
